THINGS TO DO

-DO get a ghost shell from the speaker (if you don’t already have one) for an instant light rating boost.

-DO grab everything/talk to everybody that you can. Some quests overlap, so kill two birds with one stone wherever possible. For example, Petra’s quests can be done through the course of the story.

-DO keep an eye out for chests and wormspore while on the Dreadnought. Think of wormspore as the Dreadnought’s spinmetal or helium filaments.

-DO explore the Dreadnought! Try to familiarize yourself with the routes; hang out at the court of Oryx and try to participate in the public events there; really get acquainted with the absolute nightmare that is this really fun and huge ship.

-DO turn your first calcified remains in to Eris BEFORE LOOTING ANY MORE. Only the first one gets turned in; any extra will be wasted and not count towards your counter for rewards. After that, you are okay to pick up and turn in any others you find.

THINGS NOT TO DO

-DON’T skip the first story mission—it’s the key to the questline that unlocks your subclass. (Also, don't forget to level up your subclass! Use any extra XP consumables that you have! I forgot that I had a bunch of “level-me-up-faster” stuff till I maxed my level cap, I was so angry.)

-DON’T dismantle or trash ANYTHING you're not 100% sure you don’t want or need. Some things may be useful for picking up items and starting quests. (For example—there’s a legendary fusion rifle you can pick up randomly from drops that turns into the gunsmith for rep and can start a quest for a class-specific gun. I scored a nifty shotgun for my bubble titan that allows me free ammo for every shotgun kill while inside my bubble and buffed with armor of light: the Immobius.)

-DON’T start your year one Veteran Tour quest with any year one rewards in your inventory, or quest will get stuck at "Talk to Eve Levante". Here’s a simple fix: Dismantle anything you picked up early as it gets handed to you. You can rest comfortably knowing the new kiosk system will never let you lose a shader, emblem, or sparrow again.

-DON'T start farming Hadium Flakes (sword material) unless you have space for them, otherwise they won’t get sent to Postmaster. You only need 25, and you can start collecting them from any un-named/ unlocked chests you find on the Dreadnought. The best farming route is currently Mausoleum—hug the outside edges and search all the rooms; chests spawn fairly regularly if you're actually grabbing them. (DON'T FORGET! HUNTERS' NEW SUBCLASS HAVE A PERK THAT ALLOWS THEM TO SEE CHESTS AND MATERIALS ON THEIR RADARS - BE A HUNTER OR BUDDY UP WITH ONE FOR CONVENIENCE.)

-DON’T stress too much. Chests are locked, enemies are too strong, all of it is brand new. Give it time! New discoveries are happening all the time in this game.
